How does FleetWatcher help manage paving operations and implement new technology?

In 2018, when the team at Middlesex was looking for a telematics solution to help manage their fleet they were dealing with a few issues. Vice President of Paving Mike Iapaluccio recalls that they were still recording shifts on paper and communicating through only phone calls. Iapaluccio says with FleetWatcher "You can see travel time, time Waiting or sitting at the plant, waiting to get loaded, you can spearhead those issues and get ahead of them before they even happen."

With the ability to see live data on the Fleet Watcher app, if any issues occur on a job site, they can be corrected promptly. FleetWatcher also allows contractors to:

  • See real-time reports and alerts
  • Reduce over-trucking
  • Reduce excessive idle time

The Florida-based contractor also uses FleetWatcher's virtual shift tickets, which are designed to help project managers know when drivers are on the clock, what kind of loads they are hauling, and how many tons per truck there are.

"We use the virtual shift tickets on a daily basis. All of our hired haulers are required to log in everyday via the app. They get paid off the app. The virtual shift tickets have helped us reduce overhead costs."
